Wildlife watching in The Isles of Scilly

The Isles of Scilly’s abundance of wildlife makes it the perfect spot for those who love to see animals in their natural habitat. Its location is perfect for seabirds and marine mammals and these can be spotted on daily boat trips from the islands.

Basking sharks, porpoises and dolphins can often been seen swimming alongside the boats while puffins and gulls fly overhead. Seals are commonly found on the Easter Isles and Western Rocks.

St Mary’s Boatmen Association offer boat trips around the islands. Its wildlife tour includes the Eastern Isles, Norra’d Rocks and Western Rocks. The skippers provide a commentary with their extensive knowledge of birds and wildlife. Lasting around one hour, the tour costs £13 for adults and £6.50 for children.
