Earlier this week our friends in Holland alerted us to the exciting news that we had been featured in one of their national newspapers.
De Pers literally means The Press in English and is freely distributed to 200,000 readers in the Netherlands.
An unreliable Google Translate informs us that the piece starts "#Engeland the rough and frequently still untouched landscape of Cornwall, in the extreme south west of United Kingdom." Which sounds like a fair description to us.
We're also relieved to note that they mention the terrain. In the past, the ups and downs of Cornwall have both delighted the adventurous members of Dutch society and baffled those who are used to the flat terrain of their homeland.
One thing we all agree on though - Cornwall has some of the most stunning scenery in the world.
While we can't read/write/speak a word of Dutch, perhaps you can. If so, we've posted an excerpt from the article below, while you'll find the whole feature here.
"Het doel is ook duidelijk. Na een nekoperatie heb ik maanden niets aan mijn conditie gedaan, een weekend fietsen moet duidelijk maken hoe fi t ik ben. Ik ga niet bepaald op ontdekkingsreis; ik woon in Cornwall en ken het landschap goed. Op vrijdagavond kom ik aan in Wadebridge en check in bij het Molesworth Arms. Ik heb afgesproken met Lanyon en met een schrijver, Tony, die met me mee fi etst."
